Abstract:
One of the most common and widely used methods in the process of disambiguation of words is conceptual density. This method performs disambiguation of ambiguous noun using other existing nouns in the sentence. This method uses all these nouns with equal effectiveness in disambiguation process while some unambiguous nouns have more semantic relationship with ambiguous noun. This paper attempts to weigh the ambiguous noun considering the number of senses of each unambiguous nouns in the sentence. Thus, the conceptual relationship between that unambiguous noun and ambiguous one is determined based on the weight each unambiguous noun is assigned and using these weights, the effect of unambiguous nouns with higher weight is highlighted and finally, more accuracy in conceptual disambiguation process is reached.
