Abstract:

Securing routing operation in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) and wireless sensor networks (WSN) is a very challenging research aspect. One approach to solve this problem that is currently receiving researchers’ attention is reputation-based solution. Although reputation-based solutions provide robust trust-aware routing mechanisms, especially against insider attacks, they suffer from various problems. These problems are related to reputation systems characteristics as well as MANET and WSN nature. In this paper, we provide an overview of some famous reputation-based solutions, highlight some of the problems and provide some suggested solutions.
