The Use of Artificial Intelligence Applications in Addressing the Public and Shaping Public Opinion: from the Viewpoint of Professors and Instructors in the Faculties and Departments of Journalism and Media in Jordanian Universities

Abstract:
This research aims to identify the various uses of artificial intelligence in addressing the public and forming the public's opinion from the viewpoint of professors and instructors in the faculties and departments of journalism and media in Jordanian universities. The community of study consisted of the 6 Jordanian universities that teach the major of journalism. The study sample consisted of (70) respondents from faculty members in these universities. The study concluded that the level of use of artificial intelligence applications in addressing the public and forming public opinion, from the point of view of the study sample was high for the themes of “The Content” and “The Recipient”. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in terms of responses from the study sample members that can be linked to the variables used in the study. The study advised of the importance of incorporating the topic of artificial intelligence in the study plan of the journalism and media sections. The study also recommended conducting more studies and research periodically to know how to benefit from using the artificial intelligence applications due to the rapid developments and changes in these applications.
