Abstract:
The letter draws attention to an overlooked fact that maximal symmetry, which is linked to the number of killing vector fields could be extended by including foliation. Thus while the classical computation leads to super string spacetime D = 10, the extended “foliation”-like concepts lead to a fractal form of Witten’s M-theory with where . Subsequently we provide a bird’s eye view of the power of the golden mean number system, which introduces optimal symmetry on three interwoven levels, namely topology, geometry and number theory. This conclusion implies that maximal symmetry corresponds to the minimal Lagrangian and simplest solutions for the steady state of motion of the most general form. To sum it up in a nutshell, we are proposing the golden mean number system as a language combining Wittgenstein meaning and picture theory with Chomsky DNA-like grammar as well as Dirac’s beauty criteria which we must learn, in fact must master, to conduct an intelligent meaningful dialogue with nature
