Abstract:
The perceptual process gets abundant sensory data that has been captured from the environment. This data has both task relevant data and irrelevant data. The presence of irrelevant data can handicap the perceptual process in terms of expensive computational task and occupying valuable short-term memory. The outcome of such data is unproductive and sometimes may also impair the relevant data. This identifies the need for drawing a line between relevant and irrelevant data. In this paper we are proposing a perceptual model that uses both pre-attentive and attentive process to classify and predict the perceived data as effective and trivial using BDI model and Bayes theorem. A test-bed is developed to demonstrate the classification and prediction.
